CIEM's regular financing comes mainly from the Universidad de Cantabria. The hotel Las Rocas, in Castro Urdiales, and the City-hall of Castro Urdiales.

The University of Cantabria is responsible of the administrative work and management of CIEM, providing human resources and equipment, and organizing activities. It also provides to all participants of CIEM events free access to its Electronic Library.

For specific activities, the CIEM or the event organizers have to find additional support.
