This is the third edition of a two-days international workshop organized with the aim of promoting a broad exchange of information and new developments in optimization theory and its applications. This includes convex and nonsmooth analysis, numerical methods and semi- infinite optimization, among others. The first edition took place at the University of Limoges, while the second one was developed at the University of Alicante. For details about these previous editions one can visit the webs http://www.unilim.fr/pagesperso/abderrahim.hantoute/ALEL2008.html and http://www.eio.ua.es/actividades/congresos/alel/

The primary goal of the current edition is to build a strong network in Optimization and Applied Analysis which connects some prestigious researchers in Spain and in France, and some other collaborators through some scientific projects such as ECOS Project with Chile, Australian Research Council Discovery Project with Australia, etc. As a result, the schedule is built under a limited number of talks, with no parallel sessions, and many discussions.

The tentative number of participants is around 30 people and 20 talks. The talks have the character of invited talks in the sense that the workshop does not offer the possibility of submitting contributed talks. A posters session, mainly addressed to PhD students and Post doc will be included. This is the third edition of a two-days international workshop organized with the aim of promoting a broad exchange of information and new developments in optimization theory and its applications.
