The Atlantic Geometry Seminar is an annual mathematical meeting to discuss geometry, dynamic systems and their interactions, held at the International Centre for Mathematical Meeting (CIEM) depending on the University of Cantabria and the Local Council of Castro Urdiales.
The fourth edition of the AGS will deal with different perspectives regarding discrete groups, which combines geometry in a broad sense, low dimensional topology, geometric group theory, dynamical systems, and geometric analysis. Morning sessions will involve two mini-courses by Mark Baker (University of Rennes) and Barak Weiss (Ben Gurion University) and several one-hour talks. Afternoon sessions will be dedicated to discussion workshops on the surface subgroup conjecture, the geometry of 3-manifolds, and the geometry and dynamics of Veech groups. This edition is co-organised with the french network ‘GDR Platon’, in collaboration with the french ANR projects ‘GDSous’ and ‘DiscGroup’ and the israelian wandering seminar ‘Action Now’.
